Regina-based tech startup HomeTeam Live announced Jan. 24 that the company has closed its pre-seed capital round, raising $450,000. This is the first round of funding for HomeTeam Live, with funding exceeding their initial goal by 200 per cent. The round included high net-worth investors and angel investors from Saskatchewan and Western Canada.
HomeTeam Live was founded by Tanner Goetz and Logan Fraser, offering streaming software that provides broadcast quality video for amateur sports. The software allows families, coaches, fans, athletes and scouts to view amateur sporting events online from anywhere in the world. It also allows additional content and advertising, and streams high definition local content to major broadcasters to maintain compliance with Canadian Radio Telecommunications Commission regulations.
“With the current funding round, we hope to cover most development costs on our current product roadmap for the HomeTeam Live app along with the build of an iOS and Android mobile app,” said Tanner Goetz, HomeTeam Live co-founder and CEO. “We will focus on sales and revenue acquisition by building a business development team to expand into areas in Canada and the United States.
The company incorporated in June 2021 and is currently in the Conexus Credit Union Cultivator tech incubator in Regina.
