White Buffalo Youth Lodge Makes a Difference for Back to School

As any parent can tell you, back to school can be an expensive time of year. Saskatoon’s White Buffalo Youth Lodge holds an annual event to help parents and children as summer ends and school begins. The organization held its annual Back to School Back Pack Giveaway and Carnival on August 30, 2018 with great success.

The event brings together community members and corporate sponsors to help local families in need, by reducing the barrier of buying school supplies and backpacks for the new school year. The carnival celebrates the end of summer and the return to school, while also providing much-needed supplies to those who may not otherwise afford them. The backpack giveaway began four years ago, supported by Nutrien and the Saskatoon Tribal Council.

The White Buffalo Youth Lodge not only helps children and families in need during back-to-school, they also offer assistance all year long. The Lodge is a multi-purpose centre providing programs and services to children, youth and families free of charge, committed improving the quality of life of the people they serve integrated, holistic support services.
