SaskPower has announced that Rupen Pandya, the current Deputy Minister of Finance for the Government of Saskatchewan, has been appointed as the company’s new president and CEO effective July 1, 2022.
Pandya started his career with the provincial government in 1997. He worked for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, Ministry of Social Services, and Ministry of Advanced Education before becoming an assistant deputy minister for immigration services. Pandya has also held assistant deputy minister positions with both the Ministry of Advanced Education and the Ministry of Economy before becoming the president and CEO of SaskBuilds in 2013. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance in 2017. Raised in Regina, Pandya holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Regina.
Pandya succeeds outgoing president and CEO Mike Marsh, who announced his retirement in October 2021 after 30 years with the Crown Corporation.
